But...they both have different good things, myspace.com gives you more freedom but isn't as safe as facebook or as easy to use - Facebook.com restricts you, but has a lot of fun yet sometimes annoying applications, and is less messy.
Yuniti combines the best of both (easy to use, organized but you can design it yourself, and really fun %26amp; super safe) + it even makes things for myspace like a tracker ( http://yuniti.com/myspace ) - does't put anything on your page or ask for your login info.

I just got face book and....?
I got it coz my friend insisted i joined.. but i want more friends... how do i go about it?

You could search for people you know by typing their name's into the search bar on the left hand side of the screen.
If you click on the Friends tab at the top of the screen, on the page that comes up, there's an option that says Friend Finder down the page. This allows you to invite friends using their email adresses.
If you want to meet new people, join some groups and get chatting. You can do that by clicking on the groups link on the left hand side of the page and searching or browsing for some.

On the other hand, FaceBook is great. It's mainly for older kids who are looking to reunite with old friends from their elementary school days and stuff like that. It's definitley easier to find people (people generally set their display name as their REAL first and last name instead of Princess Katie or something ridiculous like that on MySpace). Also, the NewsFeed is a great feature :)

Hey, i have long resisted the urge to get Xanga, Myspace, and Facebook accounts because i find the idea of internet socialization to be sort of weird and pathetic. I am really "traditional" even though i am a teen still, and i dont like the idea of joining these social networks. I have made my feelings clear to my friends, even though they constantly pester my to get a facebook account. The issue is that recently, my potential-girl friend has asked me to get facebook, and i have to admit it would be really easy to get to know her better, even if i still prefer to "hang out" in real life. I wanted to know if when i sign up for facebook, my other friends would know that i had done so, cause i have my pride to keep intact :P. I just want to sign up to get closer to this girl, cause i really like her and i want things to work out, even if it means going against my stubborn pride. To restate, will my other friends be able to search for my profile on facebook or can i prevent that? Thanks!

Yes, there's a way for you to have a profile on Facebook and NONE of your other friends will know.
First, sign up for an account. After you've opened one up, click the "privacy" link at the upper right hand corner. There will be a list of options in the next screen -- click the second one that says "Search." In the middle of the page-ish you'll see something that says "Which Facebook users can find me in search?" Underneath that is a drop-down menu box. Choose the last option that says "Only my friends." Also UNCHECK the box that is below this drop-down menu box. Scroll to the bottom of the page and hit the blue Save button.
Basically what this does is allow your friends who have your email address to add you as a friend, but anyone who searches for you using only your name won't even know you have a Facebook account. If you want complete privacy, I suggest you open a Facebook account with an email address that NONE of your friends know if you really don't want anyone to know you have an account. This is so that if people try to look for you by searching their email contacts, they won't be able to find you with a known email address of yours. That's just a suggestion though. Even if you use your regular email address, setting the options to what I explained above will prevent ANYONE from searching for you on Facebook with just your name.

(They realised how stupid and unfair they were being) and I swiftly joined this group after getting my account back "Official Petition to FACEBOOK on their Account Deleting Policies"

myspace, way to keep in touch with friends, family and classmate also it's not safe to meet new friends because some kids are lying about their age, sexual pedators, fake profile etc.... but only add your friends instead talking to stranger. Also someone is hacking to their myspace being spam bullietin and comments or put stuff on your page like" Click Here Click" with purple and yellow or clould and rains then just remove your code in your profile and change your passwords. Also you can change your background or layouts and you can put graphics on your page, comments etc....
Facebook is safe, there is less spam, no dangerous or fake celebrities profile.

I personally have both but heavily prefer Myspace over Facebook because of the deeper level of customization you can have to your own profile.
(As I said the Facebook profile is simple and clean, but thats it).
Another option which some people use (though not nearly as many as far as I can tell) is Piczo.
From what I have seen its a relatively easy setup allowing for a good deal of customization.
Just another option.
I recommend finding out for yourself what it is you like about each then deciding which you want to use.

I am a total nerd.. great in school but zero in socializing.. I don't have many friends.. specially long lasting ones..
