If you she changed your relationship status on face book?
my friend (a girl) has changed her relationship status on facebook from single to in a relationship is there a way i can ask why (i.e. a new boyfriend) her has without looking like I'm digging for info, scaring her off or checking up on her witch I'm not i would me very happy for her if she has. please help serious answers only. she live to far away for me to go and see her too.

Actually i am a woman and reluctant to display my own pic on profile.is there any risk of hacking or misuse of our pics ?

Log in to Facebook, then click the word "Privacy" at the top right corner of the window. Click "profile" and uncheck the checkboxes next to your network(s), below the "Profile:" popup menu. Then click "Save" at the bottom.
How can I delete searches on Google and Face book etc....?
You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:
For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom

I have had poke wars. Shared pics. I made cool groups. Wrote on others walls. I have the food fight app and its fun to see who can get who with food. Me and my friend have planned evens/parties. I have met friends from YEARS ago too! My fav thing about facebook is it helps everyone keep in touch with each other and have fun at the same time!

Facebook makes stuff not so awkward when you first meet people. It is a common-place for us all!

Am I just too old for all the Face book?
One of my colleagues from the primary school I work at emailed asking me to join the facebook. My twenty year old son Gregory Croquer won't have anything of it though. He says its just for younger people but I think rubbish! He told me no but I wanted to join it so I did. Noone should stop me. But I only know three people on it and noone is listed from my graduation year of school. Im not that far gone am i?? What is wrong with being on it?

Right or wrong, the majority of users on Facebook are younger (although certainly not all of them), and so users tend to display sides of themselves that they might not be so open about in front of their parents or other authority figures. Which is normal; I'll bet there are aspects of your life that are none of your son's business too!

But there's no law stopping you and facebook is making way too much money to listen to what anyone who's complaining about it has to say. So go for it if you feel you could get use out of it.

If I do say so myself, you can never be too old to use Facebook: I know people who are my Facebook friends and they were born in 1954! Many people, of all ages are starting to use Facebook to be able to connect with long-lost friends, family and colleagues from work. To say that it should be limited to people of certain age groups isn't fair. Why should the young benefit from something that older people can benefit from too? (and vice versa)
Quite frankly, your son Gregory is being quite arrogant (and that should surprise you, seeing that I'm younger than he is) - who is he to tell his mother that she can't use Facebook? As I pointed out earlier a good friend of mine (in real life) who will turn 54 this year has Facebook so that he can connect with his friends from his Harvard years! If you don't find your friends from your graduation year on Facebook, don't lose hope! There are many websites and many services out there that can find that long-lost friend of yours.

If I do say so myself, you can never be too old to use Facebook: I know people who are my Facebook friends and they were born in 1954! Many people, of all ages are starting to use Facebook to be able to connect with long-lost friends, family and colleagues from work. To say that it should be limited to people of certain age groups isn't fair. Why should the young benefit from something that older people can benefit from too? (and vice versa)
Quite frankly, your son Gregory is being quite arrogant (and that should surprise you, seeing that I'm younger than he is) - who is he to tell his mother that she can't use Facebook? As I pointed out earlier a good friend of mine (in real life) who will turn 54 this year has Facebook so that he can connect with his friends from his Harvard years! If you don't find your friends from your graduation year on Facebook, don't lose hope! There are many websites and many services out there that can find that long-lost friend of yours.

I caught my 12 year old with a myspace account a few months ago. She even had our home phone number listed on there. I was so angry. She lied about it for almost a year. She used her friend's computer to set it up because she would never get away with it in this house.
She is banned from the Internet for one year. And, I record all the episodes of "To Catch A Predator" for her TV enjoyment. I have contacted all the parents that have computers and informed them of our situation.

My wife was talking to her X on face book?
While going over a security lesson with my 12 yr old we linked through her facebook account to my wifes prohile. I noticed sever hugs and kisses and an application called zoosk installed. On her friends list I recognized the name of the guy she lived with 17 years ago (we have lived together for 17 years). I hacked into her account and found that it was a highschool friend sending her hugs - not the X. However there were a lot of conversations with her X for the past 3 months and they were planning to get together for a drink to catch up.

Aha! It's just a matter of logging on with your email address and voila you have an account. You can tailor the page however you want and it's very user friendly
It's basically just a bit of harmless fun where you can "create" your own page with photos, link up to other people, do a lot of trivial sh!t...join different groups. Don't expect to be overly mentally stimulated, but it's a great way to catch up with old friends and new ones.
It is fairly secure in as much as you can only connect to people if inviations to link up are accepted. If you are in a network (australia for eg), then people from within that network can still view your page, they just can't link up to you without your approval.
At the moment Richo has got me on to the Great Aussie Insult Generator and has called me dreadful names, so of course I had to recipropcate. It's fun putting a face to a name. There are a lot of features - some fun, some annoying, sone just really bizarre.
I enjoy it....maybe not for everyone....but it's got a pretty good entertainment value

Aha! It's just a matter of logging on with your email address and voila you have an account. You can tailor the page however you want and it's very user friendly
It's basically just a bit of harmless fun where you can "create" your own page with photos, link up to other people, do a lot of trivial sh!t...join different groups. Don't expect to be overly mentally stimulated, but it's a great way to catch up with old friends and new ones.
It is fairly secure in as much as you can only connect to people if inviations to link up are accepted. If you are in a network (australia for eg), then people from within that network can still view your page, they just can't link up to you without your approval.
At the moment Richo has got me on to the Great Aussie Insult Generator and has called me dreadful names, so of course I had to recipropcate. It's fun putting a face to a name. There are a lot of features - some fun, some annoying, sone just really bizarre.
I enjoy it....maybe not for everyone....but it's got a pretty good entertainment value

I think the reason the Myspace and Facebook are both such huge money makers is - yes - due to the advertising, but even more in the sense that the target market is so well defined.
If company A is trying to sell cute pink shoes, then they're going to hawk the ads at some who would be into cute pink shoes (a generalization, i know); say, a teenage girl. If company A were to pay for advertisements anywhere else, they can't really guarantee that the teenage girl will be there, nor can they guarantee that the teenage girl will be coming back to the site again.
With these social networking sites, the target audience is way too well defined (Look at all the stats you give them), and not to mention how addicting these sites are. People keep coming back, again and again, to network with their peers, and in turn, see the same ad over and over. Does it have an affect? Sure it does!
I just can't imagine that Facebook is worth 15 billion dollars. Everyone called Zuckerburg crazy for not selling at 1 million.

Unfortunately, once that friend request is sent.. its sent for good. But, if you really don't want them to know you friend requested them, you may want to just block that person. To block them, just click on the privacy link and then scroll down to the bottom where it says Block List.

Nearly everyone was on it,
Then I tried myspace n didnt really live up to the epectation,
NOW i think bebo and myspace are both crap, awfull, use to be fun, but now its boring,
Now i aint used facebook but from what i here its the best site going if u like to chat with mates n have a good laugh n all that, Bebo is mostly for kids , Facebook is like for 16 onwards.

I have a facebook account and my friends can go and see my profile, but when other people are with them, they can see it as well. The problem is people in my area think I'm gay because hear things from some of my friends which aren't true. Facebook does not register who visits an individual's profile. As long as their privacy settings allow you to view their page (if you're not friends with them) then you won't be tracked.

There is nowhere near enough staff to monitor everything that goes on there. Most of it goes on without ever being seen by the site's staff. They would need loads and loads of offices full of staff monitoring each upload for 24 hours a day to keep on top of it, which is why it's almost impossible to filter it. They only act when content gets reported, they don't automatically stop the content going on the site in the first place - they can't. There is simply too much going on these sites to check everything, so most of it just goes on there. Until ways are developed that can automatically filter out content that contains inappropriate content (automatically detecting violent words, images etc.) and stops it being uploaded onto the site, then this problem will continue.

There is a software called as your freedom. This will tunnel through all the proxies and you will be able to browse to anysite as if the sites are not blocked.
If you are unable to install it in your college computer, simply install it in another PC and copy the installed package to this and you can browse using this software.
But the speed in this new connection will be only 64k for a free account and 300k for paid account.
