How can sites like You Tube and Face Book make revenue when everything is free?

Through companies who know that they have a massive world wide audience and so advertise with them paying big bucks for the pleasure.

How can sites like You Tube and Face Book make revenue when everything is free?
Through the advertising all over the sites......
Reply:This is because of the sponsered advert links found on these sites. The companies pay to advertise on their websites. They may also make money according to how many hits they get.

[[Hope this helps]]
Reply:Sponsorship and companies that pay to advertise.

Myspace, YouTube and Etc can afford to give away free accounts because of their sponsors. With their account being free, they are able to attract more members to show the companies how much traffic/hits a day they get which in return, they recieve more money from companies because their advertisement hits the WHOLE WORLD with one place rather than on Billboard; that hits locally.
Reply:Definitely, through advertising from other sites. YouTube is really popular so many companies would want to be known through the site. It's a way of marketing the business.
Reply:...ever heard of advertising?
Reply:Because of advertising and sponsors usually, but with facebook it is a bit more scary than that...

If you sign up you sign away permission for them to find out everything you do on any website, and they sell on your information to governments and other companies.
Reply:Sponsors, you'll see on the side all these links to other websites, well they pay to get them put there
